JONATHON
Jonathon Robins' first strides as a singer/songwriter began in the city of Athens, Georgia where he lived for five years soaking in the indie culture of the college town and it's eclectic music scene. Influenced by R&B singers in his early years, Jonathon began to find his own artistry with the combination of classic soul music, indie and pop. His singing style remained weighted in soul while his writing became heavily influenced by the indie and pop storytellers such as Amos Lee, Gavin DeGraw, and Coldplay.
Jonathon began honing his songwriting and stage-craft by attending Atlanta's best songwriter open mic nights at venues such as Eddies Attic (John Mayer, Shawn Mullins, the Civil Wars). Jonathon studied voice at the acclaimed Jan Smith Studios in Atlanta (Rob Thomas, Usher, India Arie) while he worked to navigate his own music projects. To cut studio costs and gain listeners, Jonathon began to record live performances of cover songs in a variety of unconventional settings; the most popular being an Adele 'All I Ask' cover in an empty parking garage.
Jonathon has been steadily releasing studio recordings of his original work since 2013. His 2016 EP 'Trouble' was nominated for a Georgia Music Award and he also played and featured the title track of that EP in the independent film 'Fighting Belle'. His song 'Here For You' was also featured in the films ending credit reel. Jonathon has written and recorded on multiple electronic tracks in collaboration with other artists which have been featured on Spotify's 'New Music Friday' playlist.
In 2019, Jonathon collaborated once again with producer Harper James of DeGraw Sound in Brooklyn, NY, to record and release his newest project, singles "Butterfly" and "Dreams".
As an Atlanta based artist, Jonathon was honored with opportunity to be asked to sing at Congressman John Lewis' 80th birthday celebration in 2020.
